Education Program

Exposing systemic injustice.
Inspiring action.

Engage CELDF’s decades of experience as we demystify systemic injustice, expose official deceptions, and deconstruct maliciously erected legal barriers. Learn how to reclaim healthy relations with local natural environments and end community colonization through local decision-making and peaceful direct action.

Environmental injustice will end when the rights of communities and nature are held in reverence.

What if the U.S. returned ecological governing authority to each Indigenous and non-Indigenous community? Recognizing the natural authority of permanent residents to speak for, ratify, and enforce protective laws for local ecosystems holds the potential to halt the greater part of environmental devastation. Every ecological disaster is triggered by an official act of laziness, greed, or insanity within an unwilling natural community of human and other-than human members. Let’s empower them to make the call.

“This is the beginning of a social movement that is greater than just the oil and gas industry, it is a potential game changer for all of corporate America.”

– Independent Petroleum Association of New Mexico

CELDF’S UNIQUE EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

CELDF has exposed
America’s hidden
history of
systemic injustice.

It’s no exaggeration to say that since the inaugural presentation of Democracy School in 2003, CELDF has inspired local organizing for community rights and the rights of nature by way of epiphany. Many times lecturers hear participants exclaim “aha!” and then admit they had no idea how the judiciary deceptively deprives them of their local self-governing rights by rigging the legal system to elevate corporate interests over community authority.

More than twenty years and thousands of Democracy School graduates later, we have revamped our curriculum. We expose the convoluted legal manipulations that have led us down the road to greater privatization of nature and the elimination of the last vestiges of revolutionary fervor for community self-determination. We show how injustice has been normalized and share insights that can help to liberate and inoculate us against bamboozlement.
