A prayer walk from Astoria to Hanford, the most contaminated site in North America
CELDF’s Community Resistance & Resilience Coordinator Max Wilbert shares his experience participating in a prayer walk with Djuli (Julie) Lomboy during Julie’s mid-June to mid-July prayer walk for the Columbia River. Julie walked nearly the whole length of the lower river, 300 miles from Astoria to Hanford, the most contaminated site in North America. Max joined her for a single day, walking 16 miles along the river with her.
A prayer walk alone will not stop the destruction. But it is a precursor to action. One cannot take bold action — especially action involving sacrifice — without spiritual commitment.
