CELDF is pleased to announce that Michelle Sanborn is our new New Hampshire Community Rights Network (NHCRN) Coordinator.
Michelle, of Alexandria, NH, is a homeschooling mother of three. She comes to the NHCRN after partnering with Alexandria neighbors and CELDF over the past year, co-leading her hometown’s adoption of a CELDF-drafted Community Bill of Rights Ordinance banning industrial wind turbine projects and establishing community rights to a sustainable energy future. In March 2014, by a vote of 320 – 119, Alexandria, NH, residents took an unequivocal stand to protect their community from unsustainable energy projects.
Today, Michelle’s leadership will help advance the New Hampshire Community Rights Network in its next steps. The NHCRN was founded in 2013 by communities across the state engaged with CELDF in rights-based organizing, laying the foundation to advance those rights to the state level.
As the NHCRN Coordinator, Michelle will oversee the administrative management of the Network, and will facilitate the advancement of rights-based organizing across the state as communities link together to drive community rights to the state level. Communities across New Hampshire have enacted CELDF-drafted Community Rights Ordinances – as they face water privatization, unsustainable energy development, and other threats. These communities are now joining together through the NHCRN to build a statewide Community Rights Movement.
Please join us in welcoming Michelle to the NHCRN and CELDF!
