CELDF is providing a limited number of small grants to support grassroots efforts aimed at advancing systemic change. We will only consider proposals from grassroots, constituent-led organizations that are using community-organizing and base-building strategies to accomplish their goals.
Request for Proposals
Funding priorities include: Community & ally outreach, leadership development, constituent empowerment & decision-making, mobilizing constituents & allies, coalition building and direct action.
Funding will not be used to support political activities, direct services to individuals, families, school programs, religious activities, or government programs.
Funding will be awarded to organizations or projects, with an annual budget under $100,000, where a small infusion of funds will make a significant difference in the success of the effort. Grants will be for up to $2,500. In order to qualify for this grant, organizations must be a 501c3 organization or have a fiscal sponsor that is a 501c3 organization.
Grant recipients will be required to complete a brief report on the use of funds and the outcomes of the funded project.
Your Support Can Make an impact
Thanks to the ingenuity and generosity of one of our donors – we are presenting foundations with a challenge: Make a donation to the Community Small Grant program for a dollar-for-dollar match! A small donation from your Foundation can make a significant difference to a community group. Our generous donor has pledged up to $15,000 to CELDF to honor the Community Rights Movement and grassroots work towards systemic change.
This is your chance to double the impact of this gift and make a match, dollar for dollar. By meeting this challenge, we can turn this donation into an ongoing effort to make a positive change at the local level.
