Summary of Position:

CELDF seeks a part-time Communications Coordinator. This position will play an integral role in expanding our press outreach, social media presence, and overall profile.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pitch stories about CELDF’s work, campaigns, and the work of CELDF-assisted communities, to local, regional, national, and international media outlets.
  • Manage CELDF’s social media on a day-to-day basis – including communicating CELDF activities, events, and press coverage through social media.
  • Expand CELDF’s social media presence.
  • Write and edit compelling content for social media channels and email blasts; assist in developing original articles, blogs, and other content.
  • Assist in drafting press releases, op/ed articles, and other media and online content.
  • Assist in developing and executing online communication strategies.
  • Assist organizing staff with press and social media communications.
  • Assess online performance (website and social media) and campaign results.

Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Three to five years media experience, including pitching stories to press outlets and reporters, drafting press releases, and developing relationships with reporters.
  • Three to five years social media experience, working across multiple platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and others.
  • Experience with both offline and online organizing, including strategy development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Experience using social media and email for organizing and advocacy.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent skills in social media messaging in campaigns.

Foundation and Donor Outreach Assistant

Summary of Position:

CELDF seeks a part-time Foundation and Donor Outreach Assistant. This position plays an integral role in expanding CELDF’s support for its mission to advance democratic and environmental rights. The assistant will aid in researching and drafting grant proposals for prospective foundation opportunities. Additional responsibilities include assisting in donor outreach.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in developing annual grant fundraising goals, including strategies, implementation steps, and timelines.
  • Assist in drafting letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and related materials for foundations.
  • Researching and identifying foundation opportunities.
  • Assist in developing and drafting reports for general operating and program grants, and preparing related materials and attachments.
  • Assist in drafting donor outreach materials and conducting donor communications.

Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly organized.
  • Strong social media skills a plus.
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team and to work independently.
  • Commitment to maintaining good donor relations, confidentiality, and accurate records.
