People and ecosystems in Sonoma County’s Napa Valley occupy a beautiful land base, but it is being threatened with unsustainable development to support large scale wine production and agritourism. As part of their organizing to protect nature and their fight for their right to a healthy environment, Napa Vision 2050 is holding CELDF’s Democracy School – a stimulating and illuminating course that teaches residents and activists how to reframe exhausting and often discouraging single issue work (such as opposing big box retail, fossil fuel extraction, fracking, GMOs, etc.) in a way that we can confront corporate control and state preemption on a powerful single front: people’s inalienable rights.
