Lane County, OR, residents and local ecosystems, like other communities across the state, are faced with environmental threats – including aerial herbicide spraying. As part of their organizing to protect themselves and their fight for a right to a healthy environment, they are holding CELDF’s Democracy School – a stimulating and illuminating course that teaches residents and activists how to reframe exhausting and often discouraging single issue work (such as opposing fossil fuel extraction, fracking, GMOs, etc.) in a way that we can confront corporate control and state preemption on a powerful single front: people’s inalienable rights.
